Marshmallow Dried Leaves 50gr
Marshmallow, also known as the tree mallow, is a genus of wildflowers very common especially in southern Europe, but also native to Australia and Asia. These are wild plants of temperate regions, related to mallow, from which they're easily distinguished.
It has a downy, upright stem, round, toothed, grayish-green leaves, and reddish or white flowers. Its roots are perennial, thick, long and conical, very hard and flexible, off-white yellow on the outside, white and fibrous on the inside. It's usually found near riverbeds, as it prefers moist, sandy soils.
Marshmallow has anti-inflammatory properties and mainly affects irritation of the mucous membranes. The root's properties are softening, diuretic and healing. The root is mainly used for digestive problems such as mouth inflammation (gingivitis, periodontitis), gastritis and peptic ulcer.
It helps fight intense, dry cough and colds and acts as a mild expectorant. Finally, it can also help with skin conditions, wounds and disorders, muscle and tendon pain, and insect bites when used as a poultice.
Preparing tea: Put 1 teaspoon of the leaves in a cup of boiling water and let steep for 10-15 minutes before serving.
Drink up to 2 times a day.
