Dittany 50gr
Dittany is also known by names such as Erondas, libanochorto, stomahochorto, malliarochorto. It's one of the best-known Cretan herbs, taking its name from Mount Dikti in Crete, where it grows wild.
Dittany is a low, perennial, wild-growing plant, reaching a height of about 40 cm. It has grayish-green, thick, downy leaves and small purple flowers, which we use to make a delightful, aromatic infusion. The resulting brew has yellow-green tones, a pleasant, strong aroma and a flavor reminiscent of marjoram.
Steep dittany tea in a cup of hot water for 5-10 minutes. Strain, serve and enjoy.
Tips:
Always use fresh water, not water that has been sitting in the kettle or teapot for hours.
Don't leave the tea bag in the cup while drinking, as it will significantly alter the flavor.
Optionally, add your preferred sweetener.
Once made, you can also refrigerate it and enjoy it cold if you like.
